Visitors are most welcome. If parents wish to consult an educator or the principal, they need to arrange an appointment through the Principal or administrative staff for before or after teaching time.
An information day is scheduled at the beginning of the year. Parents' evening/day is scheduled in term 2 and 3.At these meetings report cards are issued and parents will have the opportunity to meet with the teacher and discuss their child/children's progress. Parents will be notified in a newsletter of these meetings.
Text book, workbooks and copy paper fee:Payable before 30 Nov 2017
Newsletters are issued regularly to inform parents of the school's program and events that are taking place. Parents will receive these letters via email and a hard copy will be issued when requested.
It is of utmost importance in the case of an emergency that the school has the correct information of a learner regarding the following:
Parents must inform the school if there are any changes in the above .
It is the parent's responsibility to inform the school if a learner is absent. No learner may leave the school premises during school hours unless the parents of such a learner has made a request telephonically or in writing. Parents should notify the school in writing if a learner is going to be absent because of holiday plans that do not coincide with the school calendar. This type of absenteeism is not supported by Cresco School for Support learning and parents are requested to carefully consider these actions. Learners are often negatively affected by not being able to attend classes.
Parents are requested to pack healthy lunches to school. A tuckshop is operational at Cresco every day at second break. Learners can also order lunch at school. Please refer to our tuckshop and lunch list provided.
Learners experience knowledge first hand by going on school excursions. These excursions are an extension of the curriculum. These include outings such as the pantomime, camps and outings to the Botanical gardens. An indemnity form completed by parents must accompany the learner on these outings. Other co-curricular activities include: Concerts, Entrepreneurs day, Photo day, visits from organisations such as the travelling zoo etc. The costs involved in these activities are not included in the school fees.
Although Cresco provides a structured supervised homework hour, where skills and concepts are explained if learners do not understand, parents are still responsible to monitor the homework done at school. Learners are not only to read at school, but at home as well. An enrolment form will be provided should a parent wish to enrol their child for homework class. Homework class is from 14:00-15:30 From Monday to Thursday. There is no homework class on a Friday. Lunch will be provided at an extra fee. Learners are also welcome to pack their own lunch.
After Care hours are from 13:30-17:30 from Monday to Friday during the term. We also run a holiday program from 07:00-17:30 from Monday to Friday. During the December holidays and public holidays there will be no After Care.
Our After Care Routine during the term:
Our After Care program during the holiday will be provided prior to the holidays
